Capturing the style of Brazilian Musicians
From 04 to 07 february 2015, during Porto Musical, Recife, the project Flow Machines will be in Brazil, bringing the experience “Capturing the Style of Brazilian Musicians: Hands-on Sessions and Experiments“. These sessions will enable musicians to experiment with a prototype software that generates musical accompaniments based on audio recordings of musicians. They will also serve as a place to discuss the future of music technology and to perform jams. François Pachet (Sony Lab France) last work, the Flow Machines project, tries to capture musical styles, helping to make new compositions, accompaniments and improvisations. Participants will also be able to conceive and play new digital musical instruments produced by the Mustic research group.
