“Happy” with the Reflexive Looper

Enjoy our version of the 2014 hit “Happy” performed by the Reflexive Looper, with Benoît Carré and Marco Machini.

The Reflexive Looper is an interactive system that can be used to perform pieces in various musical genres (rock, pop, Brazilian music, jazz). It is also an intelligent environment able to capture, store, retrieve and share the musician’s essential characteristic: the style. At each performance, the musician can reuse elements of previous performances, or use them to compose new music.
Departing from performances based on pre-recorded loops, performances with this tool are produced in real-time.

The Reflexive Looper can be used to perform multi-track music in various musical genres (rock, pop, Brazilian, jazz…). It was selected for the semi-final of the 2016 Guthman Musical Instrument Competition. It is currently being used in two music albums projects. Several concerts and performances are scheduled (in Brazil and in Paris at Gaité Lyrique) to demonstrate its potential to a large audience.
